Advent Calendar Fun-Day 14

Happy Sunday, friends!

I'm here for Advent Calendar Day 14-bringing you an idea, a deal, and a freebie!

Let's get started!

The Idea

Last week, a sweet grandmother made ornaments with my kiddos.

Materials:
1) Clear, plastic Christmas balls
2) "Snow"-comes in a bag at craft stores
3) Holiday confetti
4) Holiday ribbon (2 per child-cut in 2-3 inch strips)
5) Jingle bells (1 per child)

Steps:
1) Squeeze the wire and take the top off the ball.

2) Fill the ball with "snow."

3) Fill the ball with holiday confetti.

4) Take the wire out of the top and string the bell on the wire.
Then "poke" the ribbon through the wire, one piece on each side of the bell.

5) Attach the wire back to the top and place the top back on the ball.

6) Tie a ribbon through the top to hang on the tree.
You are finished! Look how sweet!

The Deal

My kiddos are enjoying this pack so much!

They keep asking for the next one!

I know with my own children wants suddenly become needs and this is a cute little activity as a reminder and lesson about what's really important.

I am also offering my Math is SNOW Much Fun pack 50% off! It is great for math centers with a winter theme.

It's only $3.25!! Click on the picture to take you to my store! It will only be discounted for today only! So hurry!

Are you doing ornaments with your students this year? Yes?? Here's a cute and fun way to package your holiday ornament.

Last year, I made these:

I know our sweet Terry had already blogged about these. You can read about them here. Mine are similar but I used clear orbs and stuffed mine with snow. You can read how I did mine here. What I also wanted to do was transport them home in a safe way. All you will need is some Dixie Cups, some shredded paper (used for baskets) and some ribbon.

You will need 2 of these for each ornament. These will work with the smaller ornaments. Anything bigger and it may not fit. By the way-- a mommy tip: this is also a great way to take home cupcake from a birthday party. The cupcakes fit nicely into the cup. I've taped them together (the cups) and when I get home I cut the sides (so that I just pull apart the side of the cup hopefully leaving the cupcake and frosting in tact!) that way I don't lose any frosting! Ha!! It's all about the sugar!! LOL!

Put a hole punch under the rims on both sides. Stuff some of the paper on both sides.

Then, tie the cups together (this part is hard, especially if your ribbon unravels! grrr!). You can attach a little homemade tags from the kids! SO easy and simple.

Hope you will come back tomorrow for more goodies, tips, and surprises!

From my family to yours, I hope that you all have a wonderful and blessed holiday!

Love to you!
Leslie

Advent Calendar - Day 9 Gifts and Grabs!

8. MORE. SCHOOL. DAYS!  But who's counting, right?

Nicole here, from Mrs. Rios Teaches, and it's my day to share some holiday cheer with you.  :)

I am going to come right out with it y'all.  Monday was rough!  The kids were just having a hard time focusing, and I saw so many behaviors that we had worked so hard to control, popping out all over the place.

But, then I talked to my teaching buddy from across the hall, and it was the same thing over there. Down the hall in Mrs. S' room?  Ditto!  It was unanimous!  We were all struggling with the "pre-Winter Break Wiggles."

So, I figured we may not be the only ones.  Below are two FREEBIES that I came up with to help my class stay on task, and off of Santa's Naughty List.

The first gift targets MOTIVATION!  It is a Classroom Behavior Poster!  I created these as a spin off of my Editable, Differentiated Behavior Cards (Winter/Christmas Theme).  I just have  a student color a box when, as a class, they are on task and working hard.   Use it to motivate your class to focus on your group goals! Motivate them to fill up the chart in order to earn privileges, treats, read alouds, class party, or let's face it...whatever it takes! I've made one Holiday-ish, and the other more Winter themed, so that everyone can find one that works for them! Click on the images below to download your classroom posters.
The second gift targets MOVEMENT!  The kids need an appropriate way to release their excitement, tension, nervousness, or whatever it is that makes it so hard for them to sit still, and focus, at this time of year. This pack contains easy activities that gets kids moving and working together!

So hopefully, those help you get through December, and for my Deal, I am already thinking ahead for January.

So, I have one more goodie for you...an exclusive deal for you to grab! I have my favorite non-fiction pack, Polar Bear Plunge! on sale for 50% off, for today only! (Deal ends 9:00 p.m. PST 12/9/14)  Click on the image below to snag your copy!
Hang in there! And don't forget to check back tomorrow!
